South Cadbury Environs Project

Late Iron Age / Early Romano-British

The first discernible pottery distribution pattern as currently understood is similar to the preceding phase. However, this crude plot disguises a possible hiatus or dramatic reduction in activity during the mid to latter first century AD, following the closure of many enclosure ditches. Further work is in progress seeking more effective means for distinguishing between local pre and post invasion pottery.
